Brother Thomas Osorio, OH
Prior of Westville Grove
Executive Director of SJOGCS

Growing up in The Bronx of New York, Brother Thomas Osorio, OH started on the path to the order after becoming a registered nurse in 1989. It was during this time that Brother Tom went to work for the Jeanne Jugan Residence, a nursing home ran by the Little Sisters of the Poor. It was his time with the Little Sisters that eventually led him to enter the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God in 1991 at Westville. From 1993-1997, Brother Tom served in Ireland, working at the St. John of God Hospital in Dublin, a resident day-services in Celbridge, and school/ day services in Kerry. Following his time in Ireland, Brother Tom then returned to Westville to take his First Vows. Since then, Brother Tom has served at St. John of God Community Services as a case manager, an assistant in Archbishop Damiano School, director of religious education, vocation director and director of postulance. In 2004, Brother Tom was named prior of Westville for a brief period, before going to study at Gwynedd Mercy University‎ for Administration and, later, for Human Development. Following the conclusion of his studies in 2010, Brother Tom was, again, named prior. In addition to serving as prior of Westville, Brother Tom also currently serves as director of Mission and Values and interim executive director of St. John of God Community Services.




Brother Charles Schreiner, OH
Vocation Rehabilitation Associate

Originally hailing from Pennsylvania, Brother Charles Schreiner joined the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd in 1998. After attending training in Canada, Brother Charles was shortly after sent to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he worked at the Good Shepherd Center, a homeless shelter, for a total of 14 years. During his time at the Good Shepherd Center, Brother Charles served as a vocation counselor, while also working as a licensed drug and alcohol counselor in the shelter’s drug and alcohol recovery program. After several years working in Albuquerque, Brother Charles was sent to Miami to serve for three years in the Camillus House, working in development and volunteer coordination, before returning back to Albuquerque. In 2016, Brother Charles arrived at St. John of God Community Services in Westville. Currently, he serves as an associate in the Vocational Rehabilitation program.




Brother Raphael Mieszala 
Pastoral Care Chaplain

Born and reared in Chicago, Brother Raphael Mieszala entered the Little Brothers of the Good Shepherd in 1963.  In 1964 he was sent to work in southern Ohio in a residential home for special needs adult men.  He then went to nursing schools becoming an LPN in 1966 and then an RN in 1970.  In 1971, he was sent to the Brothers’ newest residential home for adult men with disabilities in Momence, IL, where he served until appointed Director of Novices in 1978.  After that, he worked in the Brothers’ homeless shelter in Albuquerque until he entered law school in 1988.  After school, he had temporary assignments in Wolverhampton, England and then Port-au-Prince, Haiti.  From there he was sent to work with the homeless in Miami, FL, until he was sent to the seminary in 2003.  Ordained a priest in 2005, Br. Raphael again worked Miami until sent to ADS/SJOGCS here in Westville, NJ, to work in Pastoral Care as a Chaplain.
