The success of our vocational rehabilitation program is evident throughout our campus and surrounding
communities. From our on-campus restaurant, to area convenience stores, grocery stores, restaurants and more, St.
John of God Community Services' vocational rehabilitation consumers exhibit dignity, skill and pride in all they do.
The Adult Lifestyle Planning Services (ALPS) program is provided for individuals with moderate to severe disabilities who do not necessarily have an immediate goal of paid employment. ALPS participants attend a full-day program that emphasizes the development of independent living skills and meaningful inclusion in community life. Approximately half of the ALPS program is provided in community settings, in which staff supervise participants in life skills, volunteer and recreational activities.
A warm, family atmosphere pervades the ALPS program at St. John of God Community Services. Our varied community-based activities allow program participants to interact in the community in a productive manner, and include such programs as the Serve-a-Tray program, where ALPS participants deliver food to the elderly on a bi-weekly basis. These community opportunities provide an enriching experience for all involved.
