Students and Masks
We will be dealing with coronavirus for some time to come. Wearing face masks has become part of our day-to-day lives. When children return to school they will see teachers and assistants wearing masks. You may also want your child to wear a mask when you are out into the community, or when your child returns to school. The following information might be useful as you help your child adjust both seeing people wearing masks and wearing a mask themselves.
The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities and Children’s Specialized Hospital have developed a series of resources to help children understand and feel comfortable wearing face masks. The series includes:
A Parent’s Guide: Helping Your Child Wear a Face Mask - (English) (Spanish)
Help Your Child Feel Good about Using and Seeing Others Wearing Face Masks - (English) (Spanish)
I Can Stay Healthy by Wearing a Face Mask - (English) (Spanish)
