St. John of God Community Services offers two person-centered day programs for adults with developmental disabilities: one is called Adult Lifestyle Planning Services (ALPS) and one is called ALPS-Special Needs (ALPS-SN). The primary offering of both ALPS and ALPS-SN is day habilitation for adults with developmental disabilities who have reached the age of 21 and have completed their educational entitlement.
What Makes Us Unique?
A number of things make us unique. Situated on a beautiful and secure campus for 50 years, our adult day programs are “hidden gems” in South Jersey where families know that their loved ones will be happy, safe and engaged in a warm and caring atmosphere. We greet you with a smile, know you by name and support clients as they work toward their goals. We maintain a cozy, inviting environment and clients enjoy the use of many amenities located right here on our campus, including a gymnasium, library, playground, picnic tables, garden boxes, exercise equipment and learning applications on ipads and SMART Boards. Clients regularly participate in community activities of their liking, visiting places such as restaurants, malls, bowling alleys and parks.
Location and Hours of Operation
Both programs are located at 1145 Delsea Drive in Westville Grove (Gloucester County) and run year-round, Monday-Friday, from 9am to 2pm.
Some Differences between ALPS and ALPS-SN
The ALPS program maintains a ratio of 1 staff member for every 6 clients. The ALPS-SN program is designed for persons with medical special needs who need more hands-on care and maintains a ratio of 1 staff member for every 3 clients. The ALPS-SN program has a registered nurse on staff as an enhancement during program hours. While ALPS and ALPS-SN are located in different buildings here on campus, the two programs often unite for community activities and other fun events.
We currently serve people in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties living within 19-miles of our campus and able to utilize our pre-established routes.
