MEMORIAL GIFTS AND HONORARIUMS
Memorial gifts are caring and sensitive ways of recognizing and remembering loved ones.

Honorariums are meaningful ways to celebrate life’s notable occasions—births, weddings, graduations, birthdays or anniversaries.
A gift to St. John of God Community Services in memory or honor of a cherished family member or friend will be acknowledged promptly. Memorial gifts or honorariums may be made online or by check.
MATCHING GIFTS
Many employers, or former employers if you are a retiree, will match your charitable contribution. This often doubles or even triples your initial gift! Obtain a matching gift form from your human resources department, fill out the employee portion and enclose it with your contribution to St. John of God Community Services. We will complete the form and send it to your employer.
GIFTS OF PRODUCTS OR SERVICES

GIFTS OF SECURITIES
Stocks and publicly traded securities can be assigned directly to St. John of God Community Services or they may be transferred through your broker. By gifting low basis, highly appreciated stock, you will pay no capital gains tax and will be eligible to deduct the full fair market value subject to certain adjusted gross income limitations. WORKPLACE GIVING PROGRAMS
As a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization, St. John of God Community Services is eligible to receive a designated gift made through your employer’s United Way Donor Choice Program. If your employer does not participate in United Way, it may have its own workplace giving program. Check with your human resources department for additional information.
QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DONATION (QCD) / REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION (RMD) GIFTS
St. John of God Community Services is eligible to receive contributions via the following. All of these require no additional expenditures on your part. One of the most efficient ways to give is available to those ages 73 and older, and the changes should cause many to gravitate toward what for several years has been one of the smartest ways to give. A QCD is a direct transfer of funds from your IRA custodian, payable to a qualified charity. QCDs can be counted toward satisfying your required minimum distributions (RMDs) for the year, as long as certain rules are met. In addition to the benefits of giving to charity, a QCD excludes the amount donated from taxable income, which is unlike regular withdrawals from an IRA. Keeping your taxable income lower may reduce the impact to certain tax credits and deductions, including Social Security and Medicare. Contact the development office for further details 856-845-7030.
