For 60 years, St. John of God Community Services has been a place where individuals with disabilities and their families find support, dignity, and opportunity. What began as a small
mission has grown into a vibrant community serving hundreds of individuals every year - yet our purpose remains unchanged: to ensure every person feels valued, included, and celebrated.
As we reflect on these six decades of service, I am reminded that sometimes the simplest moments are also the most life-changing.
Not long ago, I sat down with one of our clients to share a milkshake. For most of us, it’s something we might do without thinking - a quick stop at a local restaurant. But for her, it was extraordinary. The joy in her smile, the excitement in her voice, and the gratitude she expressed reminded me of something profound: what many of us take for granted can be transformative for the people we serve.
Moments like this are at the very heart of our mission. These everyday experiences - whether enjoying a treat, attending a community event, or learning a new skill - bring joy, dignity, and connection to those in our care. And none of it would be possible without your generosity.
